Sitting in the stuffy car
On an insanely long drive
My family is getting annoying
My sanity can barely survive
While mum and dad have their music on
My sister is quite entertained
By picking, poking and prodding me
Until I go insane
Finally I can stand no more
I yell until I'm blue in the face
But mum and dad still don't hear me
I'm yelling into empty space
So I take matters into my own hands
I decide to deal with it myself
I take my fist, shove it into her nose
Now she's as quiet as an elf.

That's really funny. . . I was quite amused by the title. Great job.

Your poem made me laugh. I'm the oldest of five kids (three younger brothers and one sister), and the piece brought back memories of almost every long road trip my family took when I was growing up. Someone was always beating up someone. I loved the last stanza. Thanks so much for entering my contest!
FYI: A prewrite is simply something that was posted on AP before being entered in any contest. Some contest hosts specify no prewrites, wanting only pieces inspired by their prompts. I just didn't want poems that had already won gold in someone else's contest.
