For a Daughter

For a daughter

who is always full of laughter,

she brings a smile to my face

and has a heart of soft lace,

she brightens my days

in the simplest of ways,

we may have our odd fight

but it's not long before it's all right.

For a daughter I can call mine

as she is so loving and kind,

spending time with her

is like living a dream,

we laugh at silly jokes

and old folks,

telling each other secrets

which some, gave me the creeps,

but staying up late at night

when she got a terrible fright,

or when a boy broke her heart

she would pour out her heart.

Those times are very dear to me

and memories that will always live in me.

This is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. Excellent write I understand the creepy part - I have a close relationship with my girls and sometimes they tell me secrets I probably would have been better off not hearing lol

      Thank you for your comment.
Unfortunately I dont have kids, but this is the relationship my Mother and I share, as she is not just my Mom but my best friend too. At the moment we are oceans apart, but she is always in my heart and the times we shared.
