Alone, Quiet, Desolate,
I look at the crowd below.
They are laughing, jolly, merry
I am not part of them.
I am alone.
My soul craves for belonging but doesn't know where to go.
Up on that balcony
My heart pounds out of my chest
Falling, Falling, Falling
Arms swaying helplessly, legs kicking the air
I open my eyes.
Still Alive, sitting there
Death is not yet calling me
I’m just lost in Despair
There must be another way.
A different escape, a sun ray
I decide, I need to run home
Not run away.
Author notes
"KHIZU" Lost, hurt, alone, helpless is how I have been feeling lately. I have gone through things in my life that I feel like no one could understand. High up on that balcony I came to the realization that I had two choices. One, jump and run away from my problems or two, face them. I chose to face them. And since I have made that decision I have been finding the sun's rays instead of the night's dark isolation.

ok thank you for fixing this. It seemed a bit drawn out, and the only things I really want to change about this is that I wish there were stanzas so it seems a little more readable. The rhyming wasn't forced the pattern just seemed a little confusing. But, as for the poem itself, I also feel the sadness that you are coming from...we all eventually reach that choice. By the way, I LOVE the last few lines...that is the part that sticks out for me the most.

As of now, you have failed to follow all directions. Go back, reread them, and you have one day to fix it. If it's not fixed by tomorrow I'm disqualifying this.
