Heart of a poet mind full of strength
Young never knowing the future foretold
Having a clue learned more as a teen
There are those times of alone I stand
Confidence unshaken determination unbent
Young adult in my prime
No time for the crime
Let them not pit you to the test
Giving your all is your very best
Man in his glory as time has grown strong
Given a power beyond his recollection
Taking a stand all of those years
Now has a beacon refusing to dim
Take a stand my friend
Fight to the end
Never give an inch
That they cannot take
Go down in glory
With God at your side
Take that stand
No more will it sting
The war has been won
Taking a stand has made you one
One with the creator
One with the world
One with lover
One with a friend
Take a stand make the thought count
Without a doubt tensions will mount
Battles are won just one at a time
Take a stand o dear one
At peace with yourself

I'm going to ....
read this to my son...
I often worry about how well I can raise a man all by myself...it is easy for a mother to nurture... to kiss the booboos...and wipe the tears...but it is NOT easy for a woman to make a little boy man up when it's time...
I'm definitely gonna print this and read it to him Don...

That great man was Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It seems you take that same stand here poet. Your love abounds in these words. Yes, we have a fight to fight but a poets we have the upper hand when we wield our pen. It is indeed mightier than the sword. Your words ring from a heart that is filled with goodwill and love.
