When your reservoir is empty,
and your tears have dried away.
Just look inside your heart,
for there I'll always stay.
When loneliness surrounds you,
and fulfillment you can't find.
My memory's still with you,
just reach inside your mind.
If there you find no solace,
search the stars up in the sky.
Seek out the brightest two,
then stare into my eyes.
When the lonely sound of silence,
rings loudly in your ears.
Just listen to the winds,
my whispers, there you'll hear.
Then when your season ends,
and in death you close your eyes.
My love, we'll meet again,
and soar beyond the skies.

Beautiful
It is always a pleasure to read a soft and tender write that speaks of the poets heart. The stars as your eyes and in afterlife again they shall be seen

thank you Bill, when I wrote this I had no idea that death was so near to my family,as I lost a dear aunt on 12/28/07, I have yet to give this to my uncle, but when he heals a little more, I intend to and hope it brings some comfort to him.
sincerely,
Sassy

Wow...this is...astonishing, marvellous, wonderful and any other superlative that happens to pop into my mind at this moment in time. Quite amazing...I love it. I took a gander at that contest earlier and thought it would provoke some good poems but none so...beautifully written. It is quite perfect, I really do think. Each stanza is brilliant in it's own right, the imagery throughout is fantastic, the flow is like water and the rhymes are faultless. I love the image of seeking out the brightest stars...and this stanza is my absolute favourite.
When the lonely sound of silence,
rings loudly in your ears.
Just listen to the winds,
my whispers, there you'll hear.
One of the best poems I have read...it really is. It's not fancy or trying to show off, but earnest and tender and...sorry to repeat myself but I cannot find other words to describe it, perfect.
Good luck in the contest, though from my point of view, you need nothing but your own skill.
Superb
x take care x
