High thrones and power
cannot hide the night
or dreams that come
asking for care.
Kingly power
leads to greater woe
when the good of the many is spent
to fatten few;
And Queenly grace
does not cover the loss
of history, mothers have smiled
grace and love to keep mankind alive;
not to sit in quiet disposition
of the children of others.
High thrones and power
cannot bar the light.

thank you for your entry. Your response to the prompt is surprising to me, but what you saw you stated well, and made a beautiful poem from it. Thank you.

Strong statement, beautiful words. I liked "Kingly power
leads to greater woe
when the good of the many is spent
to fatten few", so very true. Best of luck in the contest!
