God is a very special friend
He helps us very much
In everything we see and do
I feel His divine touch
When drums of war beat to the night
And we hear cries of pain
He helps the soldiers marching on
To count the ones they've slain
When earthquakes shatter all around
And devastation spreads
He brings the merchants from afar
A greater sale of bread
When aircraft plough into the ground
Because a system failed
The engineers from all around
Get put on extra pay
So then they fix and solve and mind
And see the problem through:
"Of course, all airplanes will still crash
But this time, not from you!"
When ships at sea are stranded, He
Will send a guiding light
And many more reckless mishaps
That captain will provide
Until one day, he'll go too far
And God won't save him now
And people will be angry then
"God, how'd this happen, how?"
We push for progress, make mistakes
And sometimes, we mess up
And there are those who mouth off God
And those who get back up
And kids in Africa will starve
Because of guns and gangs
Blame them? Why bother! Let's blame God!
He led them to those lands!
What, wars for oil? What, genocide?
Of course, it's all His fault!
Let's not stop by to think, decide
Let's carpet bomb it all!
The world sees suffering every day
And everyone complains
Blame him! Blame her! Blame God! His fault!
And all remains the same
But I believe in you, my Lord
I care for what you do
I know my mishaps are my fault
But I won't turn from you
You give me strength when I am weak
So I can help myself
In this confusing, complex world
That could some times be hell
I wouldn't have it otherwise
I'll never bow to you
Instead, I'm always by your side
You - by mine, through and through

Oh my gosh! I loved it. So true too. We blame God for when things go wrong. Ask, how could He let something so horrible happen. There's a reason for everything though and to get angry at God. I don't, for me it just doesn't make sense, I'd just feel guilty if I felt anger toward Him. Anyways magnificent poem. I loved it. And sorry for the long winded comment. Good luck in the contest. God Bless!
