Swirling Sands of Contemplation

As sands of time swirl around us

giving a sense of substance

yet also obscuring our perceptions

of time and reality

it is almost as if we are caught up

in an hour glass watching

our lives slipping away

in to the abyss of eternity

and wondering why it is so hard

to stay on top of things!

Author notes

For the illustration, I have used a scanned picture of an actual form poem I have written which goes more into the hourglass theme of life. If you would like an e-mailed copy of that poem, request it by e-mailing me at deleeme@gmail.com , with subjest line saying:Hourglass poem.

I like what you have to say in your poem. I also like the hourglass with the poem. I couldn't quite make out all of the words. Great job. Keep the penn and ink flowing.

    Beautiful.

This is really amazing! You use the most perfect words.
This is not something you should try to explain, you just have to read the words and absorb them. And that picture of your poem "In the Hourglass" is just splendid. I can only give three applauses, otherwise I should give you at least 5 and standing! Very well done. I love it. Anna.

      Thank You Anna

I'm glad you like it. I was pleased with the way it turned out. I also like the music that I have put with it. I think it goes very well with the theme and adds to the total effect!
      Thanks fior your perpetual kindnesses!
