The Hour Glass

I used to believe
you cared enough
to let me down easy,
[you didn't]
that you'd at least
give us a try,
[of course not]
I was dropped
like a hot coal,
shoved out of the way
as if an unwanted toy,
And now it seems
the tables have turned,
I'm finally happy
[content]
Your apologies have
no meaning,
[how does it feel?]
your eyes,
your smile,
your laugh
no longer light up
a room,
[irony at work]
While you think to yourself
what might have been,
remember the chances you had,
[there were so many]
you let me go,
It's too late to change
your mind,
[I've moved on]

*applauds* yea! you tell 'em!!! this is so emotional. i know what its like to be in that position. all to well. and it kinda sucks, but kinda feels good at the same time. its all in the karma. what goes around comes around, and you expressed that nicely!
