Death Of One Name, Resurrection Of Another - Bronze

You wear a name you’ve never heard;

a signature, a near death,
a man lost in reams of regulations,
but we have found you.

They dangle on unraveling threads.

Oh, brother, your name hung on to for dear life
by our mother’s failing memory
of any of our names, dug from funeral pyre:

You are raised from the dead, but hate us for it.
That dark place was such solace to your real sorrow.

    This is such a great take on the prompt; the direction you have went - such a very near and dear one. Very thoughtful and endearing, even in the extent of its sadness. Lovely write!

    This is so full of emotion and power I'm not quite sure what to say. What's so surprising is that it's not only so full of emotion but it's also such an amazingly written piece. Thank you and good luck.

    I don't know what to say...
    I think some people react differently to emotional confrontation, or reunions. I know my brother refused to see my dad before he died, unless he recieved an apology for all the wrongs committed when we were kids. I went with no expectations of apologies, and no need really...
    he never did. I think someday he'll regret that, or maybe not. We obviously think differently about what is owed and what isn't. Past is a hard thing to let go of, but I think fear of the future may be worse for some. This was a beautiful write hon.
    So thought provoking.

      What a thought-provoking comment. Thank you.

      "Past is a hard thing to let go of, but I think fear of the future may be worse for some" This is so very true...we tend to be afraid of change, sometimes.
