All the chances you had in life
Stripped away in a heartbeat
The last beat of your still heart
You lay alone in the dark
Unaware of the light drip of blood
Falling from your mattled hair
Congealing your face to the concrete
You were going to appologize someday
But now no one will ever know
Your open eyes speak little for you
They scream your appology
The last thought you'll ever have
And no one will ever listen
Hearing the cries of your mother
As she stands over your body
To identify if it's even you
Has she forgotten what you look like?
It's hard to tell through guilty tears
Gun residue lines your teeth
Corporeal sin sticking atop sin
God turning a blind eye to you
This is not what you wanted
But it is what you asked for
Now you'll never know if she loved you
Worse, she'll never know how you felt
And when you meet up again you'll remember
That it's all your fault
