There is no consolation prize
There is no thank you or
pat on the back
Life is altering
weights stack up on your back
We walk around like nothing
But something is occuring
Divine light guides
faithless daughter
Purging of life giving water
Arise oh darkened soul
To luminate night
and again be whole
Life diminishes when energy's taken
Awaiting dreams from which we will
never awaken
Loneliness seeps in slowly
Till you are less than before
But oh my child
you are so much more
No one can take
what you do not allow to give
Goodness is in enjoying
this life we live
If you don't stand up for you
no one else can
Even if you don't
your heart understands
