A rake that laughs
A hammer in mid stroke
An acre unused since 1934
Jealous for the room, she played in the back
A flower often smelt
A landscape often painted
An Imperialist of her race
The well-to-do came to the door
A bear with news
A bruised apple
An end to a benign beginning
When they buried him, houses bloomed there
A dirt pile for fun
A bare earth project
An iron bee sat where she played
In place of the Russian was Jimmy
A partner against others
A competitor at Nintendo
An accomplice to her crime
Trucks brought families to her back acre
A wasteland
A suburb of hell
An adolescent fight with her parents
Once Jimmy had wheels, asphalt flowed from the horizon
A care in the world
A mind with pedals in bloom
An acre unused since 2004
Author notes
I had to read a book for class that had a lot of feminist and race ideals. Very interesting and I decided to write a character that dealt with some of these in much the same way. Disobeying tradition, leaving the old behind, even though there was good and bad both in what was left behind. I have also been desperately trying to find a use for the phrase "asphalt flowing from the horizon." I feel I have found a good place for it in this work. Thank you for reading.

Perhaps a little obscure and disordered but strikes as being observing and attentive.
