Outer Space and the Owl part 1

We tore down our fathers house
All over, she was shaking
Milky maggots in his mouth,
Still mother earth ate him,
Until he was just another bump in the road
All the lives we've known
Are forgotten-

I made her a nest in the willow
And I slept beneath her now
And I used her fathers grave as a pillow
And watched her tear her hair out
And feed it to the birds, and let them drink her tears
And "When you die out, nobody cares"-

And she woke me up at night,
Say's she's seen death
She see's it fly,
All the time over her bed,
And she fears it'll come down
And I begin to believe
Because when you're scared enough,
You begin to see-

And I saw it too
A great owl in the air,
Oh, how high up he flew
I bet he sees me down here,
Waiting for him to dive,
And take her alive,
I hold the gun at all times-

Bridge:
Oh my dear, don't watch the bird
He'll only take you sooner
I will make fire, and place spikes in the ground
She says "No, let him come down"
"I've always wanted to meet him"
"Let me see him"

Oh, my dear, here he comes now
She says "Be polite, make sure to bow"
"When you're leaving, yeah when you go out"
"So people can remember for themselves"
"You went out with peace and grace"

And I shot my gun at the bird
But it's talons wrapped themselves around her
And I cried, oh voice give her back!
And that great bird never looked back,

And I fainted, in a dream I saw her there
By our fathers house, wearing our mother's hair,
And she told me of where she was
In outer space, sleeping in the heavens

"God's too big to know,
And I'm to small to notice,
And when we get where we go,
We'll be happy in heaven...
