Well I came up from the well, I swear
This gorgeous girl had my mother's hair
And she bent her eyes into silly shapes
She asked me my name
And I saw trees fight for sunlight, and I could see why
This beautiful spring made things dance in the light
And she curved her lips into perplexed angles
She asked me my age
Chorus:
And I
Touched her skin
It was smooth
Like the water I'd been in
For so long, my fingers looked like rotten fruit
And she kissed me, and so I punched her in the mouth
I told her if she ever did it again, I'd throw her in the well
Her blood filled in the spaces of her broken teeth
And she cried like the storms I'd seen come over me
And I held onto her hair and smelled my mothers ghost
I don't know if I ever knew her but I miss her the most
And she spit on my body, I was naked and wet
And she ran through the forest that surrounded the well
And I followed the path of bloody leaves
And I came upon a house hidden in the trees
Chorus:
Where she wrapped herself in towels
That were dirty and wet
And I knelt beside her
As she showed all the tears that she kept
In a bottle that was always by her side
And I kissed her forehead and she smiled
And her teeth were white again
And she took some hair off her head, and gave it to me
Bridge:
"This was my mothers" she whispered to my ears
The all golden glowing locks that suffocated my fears
And I rubbed it over my chest, and I felt the warmth of childhood
Falling about me, clothing me, naked as I stood
And I promised the girl my mother was beautiful

That's cool that you are writting a concept album. I have always wanted to do that as a songwriter. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. Keep me updated!

I just posted two more songs of the concept album. If you'd like to, or if you have the time, I'd love to hear what you think of it so far.
