Laughter is a shadow
of an higher purpose,
joy in life, happiness
in moments.
In its breach we are dry
like rising desert sand,
needy as parched sun baked ground.
In laughter
we defy mortality
see our angels so near
lighted upon softly
shifting shoulders;
and laughter brings a whisper
that echoes in another's ear
touching some need to reach
for floating feathers
tickling us at sight
as if we were children again..
and in laughter, truly we are.
