And I hear her voice lightly lace,
the air this air with solemn grace
on toes tipped high on cloudy why's
of yesterday's goodbyes and lies.
Is snow a purer form of sand?
Another tool of time?
A chime unnoticed by the band?
A cherished eye sublime?
Fiery sky, oh my! oh my!
You stilling sun and setting sky!
I find her something more than life
while she reds the water with a dulling knife
Angry, not am I, I say.
I don't know why but perhaps I may
suggest to me, perhaps its love.
A love that breaks the chains of doves.
However I do indeed insist,
please red no longer the rising mist.
I beg that you still stay with me,
be kissed again so tenderly.
Do not worry on mistakes and sins,
for where heaven ends love begins.
Though ashamed and broken we may be,
we'll never break our bonding sea.
I'll sow these words into this air,
and pray that they may take good care
of you, yes you, and protect your life,
while I continue to end your strife.
Though I may weary from my work,
its worth to see not one more dirk
touch thy tender loving skin
and take away what love's within.
For what flows in you flows in me!
A river's shaken sincerity
with memories of stories told
of you and I, whose hands I hold.
