Hey! I haven't seen you since we moved!
Best friends forever, remember?
The times we were there for each other
And stood up for the things we loved together.
You mustn‘t have forgotten all that just because we moved?

Remember the hours we shared
next to the pink exquisite flowers
of the climbing trees?
The violets, maybe?
We made sure not to touch them with our feet
As we pretended to be beautiful princesses.
You musn't have forgotten all that just because we moved?

Remember the rift between us...
I had to pretend to be jovial
Even though seeing you unintentionally
Ignoring me tore me asunder.
We sat so near, but you couldn’t see that?
You mustn't have forgotten all that just because we moved?

It’s okay. I don’t mind you forgetting me just because we moved.
It’s just... I thought time would be no issue.
I thought we would always be the same, together
Like the sister I don’t have.
But... I suppose time
And the memories I have
Of the good moments
Will… heal… my wounds...

I had this really good childhood friend. We had great times together, but when we "moved" to highschool, we grew apart. What if i were to see her now? What would our relationship be like?

Awws! Same thing happened to me with a guy I knew when I was very small. We were the best of friends, then he moved away. I was in third grade. Four years later, I happened to run into him at a summer camp, and it was like every we had evaporated. It seemed like he didn't remember how close we'd been. Anyway, anecdote over. This poem is very expressive, full of excellent imagery, and tells a very melancholy story - even moreso because it's true. You're a talented writer!
