The Life and Works of Leonardo da Vinci
W. Peter Sanci Dec. 3 / 2007
Well my friends, how are you all today.
I haven’t written anything in a long while.
But for today I am going to try to enlighten you
on the his life and works of one of the greatest minds this old world ever produced.
We know for a fact that he was born on Saturday
On April the 15, it was on a Saturday at 3:00 pm.
Leonardo’s birthplace was the small village of Vinci, located between the two cities of Pistoia and Empoli.
He was the illegitimate son of a Notary Republic
Ser Pere Piero d’ Antonio.
His mother was a peasant girl by the name of Caterina.
Initally, Leonardo was sent to live with his grandparents.
Apparently he was abused by his mother and other brothers and sisters.
Even as a young boy Leonardo showed his greatness to come.
It was in 1486 that he paternal grandfather died, and his family moved Florence.
In 1472 Leonardo was installed as a master in the “Company of Painters. ”
In 1842 he wrote to the Duke of Milan, telling him of his inventions that made warfare easier and of his many ideas for fortifications and gunpowder.
Leonardo went to Rome in 1513, where he Guiliano de Medici, and where he occupied rooms in the Vatican.
In 1516, already a very sick man, he moved one more time to France where the King gave him a
house called Claux which still stands today.
Leonardo, died on May the 2nd, just after his 67th
birthday.
He was buried in the Church of the Florentine, but his remains were scattered over the various
Battle grounds of battles for religious freedom.
So there you have it my friends, the life of one of the greatest men in the world.
Author notes
I have always like the things that Leonardo stood for and did in his life. It's too bad that more people in the world didn't turn out like him ! The world be a better place indeed.

This isn't really a poem, but it does have some neat facts on Da Vinci. The only suggestion I have for this it to not repeat the word "Saturday" in the first stanza. And that's about it
