My Song (for you, and you, but especially for me)

In fate’s hands I lie
Continuously asking ‘why?’
Pondering the possibilities of life
And weighing the meaning of this strife
Alone I can’t find the answers
As depression creeps in, destroying me like cancer
But it’s in the eyes of those that I love
That I find what life is to be made of

You give me reason to live
You give me reason to love
You give me a reason to survive
Hope so I can make it through the night
I thank you for giving me air
Air, so that I can finally breathe
Thank you, thank you, now I can just be me

Dirty little secrets and white lies
All part of my immaculate disguise
Will be torn apart, by my own hand
Because this life is mine, and I’ll make it where I stand
But without meaning, this life would be nothing
And this is why I sing
Because it’s in the eyes of everyone of you
That lets me know that anything, I can do
[and in turn I must be true to you]

You give me reason to live
You give me reason to love
You give me a reason to survive
Hope so I can make it through the night
I thank you for giving me air
Air, so that now I can finally breathe
Thank you, thank you, now I can just be me

All this time I spent trying to cover this masquerade
Done so well, that to lose it, I’m still afraid
Dieing from the lies, corrupting my mind
And finally leaving me blind
I’m going to learn how to love, I’ve learned how to trust
And I’m moving away from the disgust and unjust
With this song I’ll be true
I live, I breathe, I find hope in all of you

You give me reason to live
You give me reason to love
You give me a reason to survive
Hope so I can make it through the night
I thank you for giving me air
Air, so that now I can finally breathe
Thank you, thank you, now I can just be me

Now I will just be me
This song is my…
