Crawling on hands and knees
through slate and grate
on a slanted side of mountain,
I reached the summit
only to find it winter, and glacial
frozen words that will stay for eons.
There is no global warming threat
in this. Your words have torn a black hole
in skyful love I had to offer; a trumped up taste
of dislodged boulders making solemn their dead weight.
Time has no tick here, where I can see forever
in cold eye of this storm that had me
from my first step to breach this wish I had
to reach such heights thought to be gold.

Such beautiful phrasing and magnificent mataphor,

Wow, last stanza first line is a knockout, the senses assaulted by the crisp breath of wind, the lungs electrified by trying to breathe, your words are astounding. Well done.
