He never forgives or forgets
I frantically chase him in vain
I run through his dark fatigue walls,
Fight against his anxiety rain.
I love him and hate him so much
This eternity race I must win
But this rival of mine doesn't lose
Enjoys mocking my childish sin
Over the landscape I go
Desperation granting me haste
He disappears, I let out a cry
I have not a second to waste.
But it seems he's gone forever
The whole world stops at the sea
But he is just hiding behind my eyes
All along he was chasing me.
Now I fly as fast as I can, but
He catches up effortlessly
His touch makes me fall without warning because
Time is a bastard, you see.
Author notes
I'm only sixteen and I still feel like my life is slipping beneath me too fast. This poem is just about being angry at how merciless time can be.
