Cubicle

Starched white walls of impending doom
Stripped bare from anything sane
Memos from weeks ago line every inch
Affixed by tape with curled edges

On the desk lies a single mug
Stained by coffee an age past
A single dark ring lay underneith
It will be darker tomorrow

The monitor was left on all night
A blue window stares a vacant gaze
"Please enter your Username and Password"
Flickers occasionally on the screen

Numerous papers can be heard shuffling
A phone rings a monotinous tone
Footsteps drag along stiff carpet
There is a continious buzz of the ceiling fan

Eight Fifty an hour, a half an hour lunch
A box of doughnuts in the breakroom
And you can only think of the window
Across the room, wondering whats outside

Very nicely done. I love the approach to the world of life inside the office cubicle. Great work and good luck to you.
