Darling,
when I look in your eyes
it's as if I am a stranger
lost in winter,
and they are
the doors to a cottage
where a warm fire
and comfortable
chair welcome;
When your lips
whisper my name,
they mimic a spring breeze
which tiptoes by my ears;
a voice speaking
the language of love,
carries me through every storm
to paradise and back;
When you hold me
your strong arms are like pillars
standing guard before a kingly fortress;
to hear you say I love you
in this late season
makes me feel light as a feather,
like Christmas snow
what turns our crowns a beautiful silver,
as if the moon
poured its light through each strand;
But nothing compares
to a glance into your soul
its beauty compared
to a rainbow after a storm,
your heart as if each beat
in sync with God’s own;
A wise poet once said “The best is yet to come”
but if what I have received from you
is not the best,
I dare say only Heaven
could hold such bliss.

this is beautiful and so romantic. true love does stand the test of time. i love the last verse:
A wise poet once said “The best is yet to come”
but if what I have received from you
is not the best,
I dare say only Heaven
could hold such bliss.
