Flying high above
Superb aerial sight
Spectacular view
Overcoming fear
Scared to crash
Fear of heights
Afraid of death
Terrible turbulence
Longing for the ground
Captain's words
Resonate overhead
"Nearing destination"
I'm overjoyed
"Will land soon"
Hallelujah chorus
Sings in my head
When we land
If we land
Kiss the ground
Bury roots
Never fly again!

Author notes
Contest Poem: I chose to separate the words you listed, aerial & roots. Very interesting prompt. Not too often I get inspired by pic or phrase prompts. Good luck judging your contest. Hope you enjoy.
Personally I love to fly, but there was a time when the thought terrified me! The above write are just random thoughts that kept coming to me, hope it actually sounds okay.
