Learning to fly

Before you came I could not fly
The joys of life would pass me by
With broken wings I felt too shy
Now you've mended me

Before I sang at dead of night
And hid away from places bright
You placed me in the star's spotlight
Since you attended me

I thought that black was all I'd be
That shadows were the place for me
Your love arrived and set me free
When you befriended me

The blackbird in the Beatles song
Found his life was going wrong
But he was perfect all along
And you extended me

Author notes

Inspired by Blackbird by Lennon/McCartney (Actually Paul McCartney but officially by both)

another beautiful entry based off of the sond blackbird. may found this song inspiring. I like the rhyme and to me the second stanza was the most stunning. brownie points for talking of the beatles.
