It's always there,
A constant reminder
Of who I was before
I can see it
But I can't feel it
Its not real anymore
I had played it
So many times
But now I can't remember
What once used to be
A thriving flame
Is now a dying ember
So let me hear it
Once again
Pour it over my soul
I'll then know
That its time
I've heard those songs of ol'
Its always there
A constant reminder
Of days that never last
I'll sing again
If you sing with me
Those empty songs of the past
