A tribute to the river Lethe,
falling drop by drop, they are
liquid memory etched on a face.
Trickling down--
more elegant than the waltz--
gleaming like diamonds,
more bitter than any truth.
An inferno of love
--A blaze of hatred--
A conflagration of conflict!
A watery napalm of joy...
Tumbling down from orb-shaped windows,
a glance at the dark storm within.
Author notes
I know there are weather references, but I didn't quite intend for it to go that way. since it isn't actually about the weather, I thought it'd be okay.
For anyone that doesn't know who reads this, the river Lethe is from Greek mythology. One drink, and you can forget.
I wasn't trying to use random punctuation, I put what I did down for a reason.
I hope this is the caliber I wanted it to be. I think it is one of my better writes, honestly.

watery napalm of joy....
I really don't know why, but that is downright the coolest image I've read tonight. lol. Hell, I think I need to use my word refrigerator magnets and stamp that in my kitchen as a daily mantra or something. Damn inspiring, I tell ya. -

You know...when I wrote that phrase, I was asking myself, "Does it sound weird?" Yet you have put my fears to rest. I was genuinely considering taking out of my poem for awhile there.
Thank you for commenting on my work; I appreciate it very much.
