A human life ends
suddenly, silently
not even a whimper.
All that he was is forgotten
as soon as his corpse his the ground
Someone called him son
Someone called him husband
Someone called him father
Someone called him friend
but not you
To you he is an inconvenience
that you have to step over
as you talk on your cell phone
to your business associate
about last night's football game
