hj

burn knowledge
just so

we don't have morals
we don't need them

yesterday we
threw books out the window
now they are ablaze
all night long

ditch unnecessary weight
lock up teachers
we don't need them

I am brighter than they are
I know what I want
I only pay attention to one

he tells me
what to do

I must not think
by myself

HJ = Hitlerjugend = Hitler Youth

    Wow

The emotions flowing and then over flowing...a sense of anger and wanted to be seen and heard...the knowing of what you want and where you wish to travel...yet a sense of confusion...wow! niaish so much for sharing and for entering

I find it interesting that the narrator of this piece is in turmoil over her soul being torn in two directions. "Almost mind washed"...Sacred, alone but having to remind herself that she must not think is in itself a doubt?

I hope you won't mind my pointing out that STRICTLY SPEAKING...

    "I am brighter than them"
    should be:
    "I am brighter than they"
but sounds too formal, so better to say:
"I am brighter than they are"....

this kind of reminds me of the pink floyd song "Another Brick In The Wall" I can't say that I agree with everything you say in this, but I do agree that we should learn to think by ourselves. Good job!

This was a great write, I felt like you placed the reader within the emotion. THe theme was not absent, and that's a beautiful thing.
