Here in this water, all settled and soaking
I kick my legs, and with my hands holding
A long worn out rope, hanging from the light high above
And I speak out loud, and I hear someone talking
Back to me, they just keep repeating
"How are you feeling?"
Chorus:
Boy: "I'm shivering from cold, I want my family"
Boy: "They're too far, they're too far away from me"
Voice: "Don't give up hope child, these walls will not hold you for long"
Beneath me, a bucket, old wood and rotten
And I've never touched foot on the bottom
Of this well, I can't remember when I fell
I fear the monsters of night, the end of the day
When the bright holy light falls from grace
And I must keep kicking my tired legs
Chorus:
Boy: "Where are you voice? Won't you please talk to me!"
Boy: "I'm just a boy, fearful and lonely"
Voice: "I was never a child, I don't know what you're feeling"
Bridge:
In the night I hear carols, soft songs of beauty
White ashy flakes, so cold they fall onto me
And the water it hardens, and I can't stop shaking
And my lips are blue, like my mothers favorite flower
I scream to the air "Voice am I dying?"
Chorus:
Voice: "Well you are just a boy, fearful and lonely"
Voice: "I hope you aren't frustrated with me"
Voice: "Because I'm just a voice, because we are what we choose to be"
Voice: "One day, you'll have the oppurtunity"
Voice: "To be what you want, but I know what it will bring"
Boy: "How do you know all of these things? How do you know, everything!?"
Boy: "I can't believe in such a foolish thought, you're only an echo in this hell made of ice water"
Voice: "Just wait for spring"
I kick my legs, and with my hands holding
A long worn out rope, hanging from the light high above
And I speak out loud, and I hear someone talking
Back to me, they just keep repeating
"How are you feeling?"

Author notes
This is part one, of a concept I am writing. It could be twelve parts right now, it might be shorter or longer. I don't know yet, but it'll be finished sooner or later.
Part one describes a boy in a well who has been living their since he could remember, and he begins talking to himself and a voice begins replying. He is living now through the winter time, and begins suffering but the voice assures him he will be out soon.
