When the night is not so clear
The stars all hidden from view
Secretly I wish you could be near
To see this cold night through


The moon has hidden a silent face
Finding no comfort down here
I would not feel alone in this place
If only you were here


Still the night is barren and cold
A lonely, hopeless land
Could I ever be so bold
To take you by the hand?
