Sea-Roving Pirate

A sea-roving pirate
With a ransom on his head
Was captured by the navy and
Forced to dance the hempen jig.
Defeat was acknowledged
And fate was sealed
Even before the black flag
Of piracy was flown.

Author notes

This poem is how I feel about school: School is like a death sentence that we're all aware of before we even go there. Like pirates, they know they are bound to get hung for engaging in piracy.

You know, you could change that last word to "revealed" and get a rhyme.

    Neat poem. I love pirates.

    Good write

And I so worry about the schools today so many kids are being medicated through the schools now days and they know that so much of that medication makes young people suicidal yet they care not one bit . But goodness sakes dont spnk them to make them mind what ever you do . Ah I am old school and it hurts a child far more to let them do what ever they please than any spanking ever could. And if the teachers and the principle would monitor those hallways and classrooms instead of the teachers aides maybe the schools would be worth the time to atend classes

I love pirates, and you brought the sad truth to the light...
pirating is against the law and the navy just doesn't understand.

    Only the best!
    (and more!)
