Fate?

What we call "Fate" is the pre-existing order
Upon which through time the universe is sorta
Organized to develop in a pre-ordained way,
Like with things which work right in only one way.

The material elements of inventions
Have laws within them to obey
That, along with our intentions,
Allow them to work the right way.

"Intelligent design" put them there
In the elements that make up everything.
With abilities to combine to make things to spare,
It's not Fate, but a plan from which everything does spring.

Author notes

I think what we call Fate is the pre-existing underlying order upon which through time (which is orderly change) the Universe is organized to develop in a pre-ordained way. (My opinion from the evidence I see.) I think Plato had it right: there obviously is the ideal configuration of everything that comes along, many things which only work right one way, inventions not formed out of nothing, but material which already has within it the ability to work in the newly discovered use of certain elements. Everything that is here today is due to the "intelligent design" of the elements out of which everything is made. (My opinion.)

    Fine thinking and splendid writing

Aye, Intelligent design is true to my mind, also. I love the way you rhymed this poem... especially "order and sorta" which is so cleverly done.

Hello Ellis, I love your thoughts on fate. Let me put my thinking cap on. I have to agree with your author's notes that, "Everything that is here today is due to the intelligent design of the elements out of which everything is made" Wonderful poem. Very original and had wonderful rhyme!! You take care, Sandy
