Oh gallant knight,
I do love thee!
How great the plight to
Adopt decree
This century
To be polite.
Oh gallant knight,
You do devote
To what is right
And you promote
To always dote
On love, despite.
Oh gallant knight, with
No cavalry,
How do you fight
Your rivalry
With chivalry?
Put up a fight!
Oh gallant knight,
Do not despair!
It is your right
So say a prayer
And do declare
That you are right.
Oh Gallant Knight,
Know you are right...
Author notes
My boyfriend grew up on stories of King Arthur and his Knights and lives off of the idea of chivalry. This is dedicated to him, for sure.

Good meter flows.

Thank you so much. I'm new at it, so really this is all experimental right now.

Good man, then ...tell him he's not alone. Great poem, too.

Wish I could meet a guy like your boyfriend. Chivalry is great.

I felt this one part was awkward as far as flow goes,
"Oh gallant knight, with
No cavalry, "
I believe it would flow slightly better if you brought the "with" down to the next line.
Interesting scheme. An enjoyable entry.

flow
The reason the "with" is diconnected is that I wasn't working for flow, I was going my meter. The "with" is a down beat. But thatnk you.
