A lonely soul walks through the night
her only guide this lantern bright
treading with fear yet searching for reality
in fearful steps sees her own mortality.

This night so dark, her spirit fears
as through the gloom she seems to hear
a voice beguiling her to certain path
yet wondering if she'll face evil's wrath.

Suddenly mystic glow appears
in radiance of warmth and cheer
there is no doubt in heaven sent
to minister one in great torment.

Radiance draws in protective glow
the path to freedom will be shown
within wings of safety is spirit embraced
to lay forever in arms of grace.

    Very Good

I enjoyed this read thoroughly. I could almost feel the darkness closing in and the protective mystic glow that was heaven sent.  All the best for the contest!
