When children play “pretend”,
Is it really, real to them.
When they talk on a play phone,
Do they hear a dial tone.
When they give someone a name,
Is it for real or just a game.
When they sit and drink a cup of tea,
Is it people they really see.
Has age stolen our dreams,
So “pretend” isn’t what it seems.
