Through many years
I lived & breathed
within the hills
of West Virginia.
Memories of camping
and fishing at Beach Fork
knowing in my life
This subdued my strife.
When the places I would go
from the Kanawha River
all the way up to
the hills near Kentucky.
A snow covered hill
laid before my home
when many of times
my friends & I would roam.
Three Christmas' ago
I got this letter in the mail
wishing me kindness, love &
A Gentle West Virginia Christmas.
When trees lit up
they filled the house
With shades of red, blue & green
Glorifying were the colors that I seen.
When morning came
I jumped out of bed
and Merry Christmas
was the first words I said.
I'll never forget
Those cold winter nights
Laying in bed as I heard
"Merry Christmas to all and to all goodnight".

I didn't know they had Parrots in West(By God) virginny.
I can relate to West Virginia Christmas, My Mom is from Delbarton, My real Father is from Williamson and my stepdad is from the Cherry creek region ( Monogahela)
