Dim her once beautiful eyes
She is a frail version
Of the vixen she portrayed
Not four months ago
Her heart filled with sorrow
Depression overpowering
Her fragile heart breaking
Without his love
Her heart broke
When his life was stolen
Bang bang
Shot between the eyes
I love you
Words said too late
Did he know?
Broken and alone
His muse cries silent tears
Muse…
I love you too.
Author notes
I wrote two other pieces...
Él dijo que él me amó and Emotional Drivel... this piece I just wrote tonight... the man who inspired those two pieces as well as this one was shot and killed on August 12, 2007. I was completely devestated. I still am. I've attempted to pull myself together but I still love him, and I will always miss him. Maybe someday I'll be able to move on. move on but I will never forget him. He was my first love... but for my sake hopefully not my only love.
Lemme know what you think

"She is a frail version.."
I love these three lines because it speaks of how it is possible to miss yourself. Those lines capture that feeling perfectly in such a simple setting that it takes the reader off gaurd and makes them think, and feel, things they'd rather close off.
I also love the parts about his muse; it brings to mind greek stories of beauty and inspiration, but put in this setting it only makes it so much heartbreaking. This is an absoulty beautiful poem, breathtakingly sad. He will always be a name that makes your heart start because he was your first love and thats a powerful force. But I know he won't be your last.
I love you
