Lord bless this foolish youth and forgive my doubts,
I wish to speak with You away from harsh shouts.
I love You Lord and I know You love me too,
I hear Your wish in what You will have me do.
Praise be the name Allah and all It stands for,
yet my soul conjures visions of pain and gore.
The weight of this bomb grows heavy on my heart,
for I'm scared of failing or falling apart.
Please forgive me Lord as I tremble in fear,
the lives of infidels I value too dear.
I will not shirk my mission in faith to die,
letting my death expunge the western lie.
I’m proud to offer both my body and soul,
by forgiving my sins You have made me whole.
Thank you Lord for this time listening to me,
for my belief in You will soon set me free.
The faith of my people is measured in blood,
since after the days of Noah and the great flood.
I’m ready Lord to give this switch a flick,
life and death will complete, at the sound of click.

Interesting poem Emile... I like the way you portrayed the thought process of the Suicide bombers last moments.
I believe they have no fear of death as such, but actually welcome it with open arms.
But people will always wonder about there actual final thoughts regarding this unless they are part of the moment or movement.
Good luck to you in the contest.
All the best,
~T.S~

I am sure you have this spot on Emile. In those circumstances I believe that your words portray a great insight to the emtions, thoughts and feelings of such a person...well written...mal

Impressive. I like how you portrayed the mind of the bomber. It shows the fear and loyalty at the same time. Sad poem, obviously, but you did very well on such an...*searching for the right word*...edgy topic. It shows the humanity and faith of the person just before death. Well done!
