My heart is like a subway car
passengers coming and going--
Some hop on
for awhile, then gone
others ride the daily circuit.
This car has been filled
by all kinds of people
chainsmoking journalists
charismatic men-in-suits
the little old women
with wise shining eyes
the friends, family, strangers
that whoosh through its doors
Faces change
people move
life evolves
in and out
but
always,
this car barrels on
ready
and open to the public

Very good
How true this is of everyone's heart. -

I really like this middle stanza...wonderful imagery
and very nicely expanded from the your heart as a subway..thanks so much for entering my contest..

This is great!! I love the first stanza, it really grabbed my attention, and it's so relatable...so true, for everyone I imagine. It's great the way you describe the people, wonderful imagery. And "open to the public"...what a great finish! Excellent write!!

I like your analogy...
"My heart is like a subway car
passengers coming and going--
Some hop on
for awhile, then gone
others ride the daily circuit."
