How do you explain,
most things worth having
are ephemeral.
You can’t buy them.
All the good works in the world
will earn you nothing. It is
not why you do them. But,
that you do.
Everything worth having shows up,
when you are ready to receive it.
Waits for your eyes to open,
since, the day you were born.
God gives you everything,
from the start. You receive,
not, what you want. Want
is too narrow and eats you
more than you can feed it.
It makes you cry, when
you discover it was a matter
of learning to know what surrender
means and how acceptance has nothing
to do with giving up.
I have already told you more
than you can hear, until you have it all.

I have done gone and hurt my back but, i am still trying to do the dance of life...maybe that has something to do with surrender...knowing life goes on just the same even if we don't like it so why not just live it until can't live no more (until death takes us)...
Thank you again Tom for the read here in Canada...tonight or day there...

Life is, inspite of all our arguements. When we breathe it in completely and become part of the energetic, we are available for transcendence. I have been fortunate -- for all of my nadering, I am sometimes still enough to be in the prescence of God and at one with it all. Such gifts are what life is for.

Enlightenment...such a personal thing and yet, it only makes an impact when it is shared. In actions that speak louder than words. In true empathy that sees the hurt of the world...or the neighbor across the street. Eyes must see past the phyical and ears listen to what is left unsaid. These are thoughts I carry through my days always wondering if I am doing all I'm ready for. Thanks for your thoughts. Blue

We act as if in a dance. Every action both a reaction and a statement, both driven by cause and a choice of a responsible visionary. Our freedom comes only in chosing yay or nay in regards to the quandries of kismet. I always thought the secret was to create gardens where ever you live (i have finally gotten rid of my brown thum
and see how many hearts you can bring in touch with themselves. Most of all enjoy the music and really dance. Love, Tom B.

I rather liked this. I do so love the use of the word "ephemeral," and this had such a stirring message rolling through it. The final lines were perfect, a delicious blend of... warning? Resignation? Determination?
Absolutely brilliant, Tom.

It is a little frustrating, at times. You want the whole world enlightened and sensitive and caring and you can't do it for them or give it to them. It has to be earned. They have to want it. Like most things worth having it don't come easy and there are lots of opportunities to quit on the way and what works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for the next.
We, the U.S., we going to eradicate poverty. We through tons of money at it and destroyed a culture that supported people in getting out with their sense of life and value intact. Now we have welfare and guns and alot of it was a result of the war on poverty. I can go on, but I won't. Hope I got you thinking

I am an egotist... I must be... this is at least the second poem that's been entered into this contest that I find speaking to me, specifically, and I cannot presume that it's intended, but please just allow me to say that that final couplet:
"I have already told you more
than you can hear, until you have it all."
speaks volumes to me...
I love the strategically placed line breaks... they give pause, a moment to take a breath or to reflect, at just the right moments!

I write as they come, sometimes. This one jammed its way into my listening and wouldn't let go till it was said.
If I blew the anonimity, I am sorry. But I expected you knew who this is.
Maybe it was for you. I just didn't know it at the time. Fact is, I wasn't sure why the hell I was writing it, but i knew it belonged in your contest. So may be you aren't egotistical, at least not totally
. Sometimes I don't know what I am writiing or why until it unfolds before me and lets me breath in its meaning. Thanks for enjoying it so. Keep it next to your heart.
Love, Tom B.

Once in a while I get caught up thinking I wish I knew some of these things along time ago. How it might have changed my life! Then I realize I wasn't ready or I was the instrument for someone elses lesson. Sometimes we are learning the lesson sometimes we are the teacher. Either way everything is always as it should be. Good or bad, there is a reason. I think you expressed yourself very well here...

We think it is all about us, until, we realize it isn't. Then we discover how it has always been there all along.
