the road is long
as i look ahead
i see its twists and turns
what a tricky road it is
i notice i have no map
i'm afraid i may get lost
the rocks are so jagged
they pierce my heels
as my shoes wear away
these shoes were my only cover
hiding me from this pain
now i feel their sharp edges
the branches hover
keeping me back
my shirt rips and tears
soon i'll be exposed
nothing protecting me
from briars and sharp twigs
the wind is unrelenting
it pushes me backwards
forceful and strong
it chills my body
i get colder by the second
until my body becomes numb
and here i am
cold bleeding and lost
on a road i call
LIFE
