In the DMV of my heart,
new faces walk on through.
Hoping for a crowning symbol
of linking maturity.
They pass the test,
of judgment and safety,
and begin the process
of connecting themselves to the DMV.
Those who fail,
just pass on by.
Waiting for another day,
to give it another shot,
and to be close
to
the
DMV.
Those who passed before,
get closer with every step,
until they pass the final test,
and are now part of my heart.
Author notes
DMV= Department of Motor Vehicles, if you didn't know, it's the place where you get your permit, and then license.

I like this, it's creative and innocent. I like the entire theme and the way you weave realism into the poem. Great job here. I hope you do well in the contest. Cheers.
Oh, thanks for the author notes. I actually couldn't remember for the life of me what DMV meant. heh.
