His eyes burn fiery red,
But there's fear in his eyes,
He's sick of all the pain,
Sick of all these lies.
His bruises tell his story,
Of hurt, love and pain,
But the clouds up above his head
Just pour down acid rain.
His young face is so precious,
Words flow from his lips,
Every time his father comes into view,
His baby heart just rips.
His own personal hero,
Is his own personal foe,
He's making his son his victim,
Still plenty of hurt to go.
The toddler is smiling now,
as his enemy is taken away
By men in navy hats and suits,
To stop his pain today.
The child speaks finally,
such innocent words,
But, "I Love You Daddy"
Is all that is heard.

Thank you for your entry
So sad that the ones who hurt us are the ones we love the most. Why can't they ever understand what they are doing to us. How can they be so cruel when all we want is their love. Thank you for sharing.
Good luck, I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment.
God Bless
