Once so small and fragile
The apple of my eye
I helplessly watched as you grow
Oh, how that makes me sigh!
That bond we share
I can not begin to compare.
As I gaze down at you
And gently stroke your hair.
You entered my life
Little did I know?
That indescribable connection we shared
As I watched you grow.
The trials and tribulations that we have endured
You have made me complete.
Watching as you grow
My heart skips a beat.
A gift from god
For all to see
So many beautiful memories
That you have bestowed upon me.
For you my love
I will always be
That mommy you long for
That kissed your knee.
Grow and venture upon this world
Oh what a difference I know you will make.
I thank god everyday
Although my heart does ache
Letting you go to discover you
Little angel remember
I am always here for you to see you through.
