Postcard From Hell.

It arrived scorched
and smelling of sulpher
still quite warm to the touch
the gnarled old hand that gripped it
trembled when he saw the return address
he knew some form of bad news
would eventually catch up to him
here in Bumfiddle, Minnesota
where he'd hidden out since World War two
as an entirely new person
with a history that would curl pubic hair
his arm almost made it halfway up
when he saw who had sent the post
there was no picture per say
just a distorted melted face
with a scalded look
in a permanent scream
and a troubling bit
of a fuller brush
under his nose
singed and familiar
the horror in the eyes
made the intestines
clench in the old man
and his bowels moved
in his jockeys
like the brown blur
of a race horse
over the finish line
it was no run for the roses
just a dash for some
squat thrusts
and grunts of defeat
his fingers tingled
for the card was supernatural
and not of this world
or my next
but he knew he would personally
return it to the sender
on the back side
of the cursed postcard it simply read...
"It's horribly hot here....
makes the crematories
we built together
look like tanning booths
choking gas.....starvation and thirst
I'm a living walking pile of bones
experimented on..raped and tortured
every second in all orifices
wish you were here....instead of me
but I hear I'll be seeing you soon
........sin-sear-ly....Adolph Hitler
a few minutes later a fist of cold stone
gripped his heart
he broke into a cold sweat
and woke up in flesh peeling
walls of flame, prods and acid enemas
screaming hell...Hitler....Hell..Hitler
as the tissues of his throat
became black encrusted scabs
and his last memory before agony
removed all traces of what used to be
was that Postcard from Hell...
and the entire collection of Nazi's and
Nazi sympathizers around him
were at long last complete.

"Peace to all men, and equal rights to all races..faiths and lifestyles"

I thought of pasting the lines I liked here, but it would take up to much room! The first two lines jump up and scream - they get your attention and you are not dissapointed as you read the rest! VERY good poem! There are not alot of people on here I like to return to read their things - but so far I've been nothing but amazed!

That was very interesting. I love the lines:
there was no picture per say
    just a distorted melted face
    with a scalded look
    in a permanent scream
    and a troubling bit
    of a fuller brush
    under his nose
    singed and familiar
    the horror in the eyes
Very nicely done. Thanks for entering and good luck.
