its 11 oclock at night
standing in the bitter cold
partner pacing by her side
listening as she begins to unfold
voices from the other end
he knows its not going well
she pleads to a voice unheard
as her own begins to yell
'cant i see them one last time?'
'i dont understand what i did '
i did everything you asked...
why are you giving away my kids? "
louder she becomes
as her screams begin to enrage
anger and sadness become her
life turning another page
a final slam on the payphone
as her partner stares in distress
her world begins to unravel
spinning wildly, now a complete mess.
down on the pavement she falls
throwing herself, not feeling the pain
screaming and punching herself
completely going insane
he picks her up and they walk
breaking each step she takes
into the door she steps
into this world of hate
she screams 'get out of here!'
he says 'where do i go?'
" id ont care, go to the store "
i just want to be alone.
door closes, she screams, she hits
dishes fly, things fall, she cries
they lied, she complied, they defide,
now alone without her children her soul dies
a moment of remembrance still lingering
for that was many years ago
something to forget
that changed her forever more

Very well done. So full of powerful emotions. Best of luck in the contest

So sad this is
Yes we must always think of the children first for to think of them later often they are no longer there to share .We live in a very screwed up world but the children are always your responsibility first and should you not see this often the world can be cruel for we find ourselves neglected and left alone in a place we once called home .

The pain of a mother's loss of her children... they say there is nothing worse. Of course I wouldn't know... I'm not a mother, but i can only guess how horrible it would be. Great job!
