When I was still a little girl,
At night "Dear Lord" I'd pray.
Life seemed ever wonderous,
As I would run off to play.
I never knew then what was to come,
The good things and the bad.
How I would would pray now every night,
Please dear lord don't leave me sad.
For my sins I do repent,
And your love I try to give.
Please dear lord, what do I do?
How many sins do I forgive?
I thank god every day,
The time I spend in happy things,
Like watching my children at play.
The love they give goes ever on,
They are, you see, forgiving.
For they see the good and not the bad,
Their hearts so full of giving.
There are days when their love,
Is often the only thing.
My life is better with them around,
My heart it does sing.
For them, now, I do pray.
The thing I pray for most, you see,
Is to let their sorrows be few,
And let them happy always be.
At night "Dear Lord" I'd pray.
Life seemed ever wonderous,
As I would run off to play.
I never knew then what was to come,
The good things and the bad.
How I would would pray now every night,
Please dear lord don't leave me sad.
For my sins I do repent,
And your love I try to give.
Please dear lord, what do I do?
How many sins do I forgive?
I thank god every day,
The time I spend in happy things,
Like watching my children at play.
The love they give goes ever on,
They are, you see, forgiving.
For they see the good and not the bad,
Their hearts so full of giving.
There are days when their love,
Is often the only thing.
My life is better with them around,
My heart it does sing.
For them, now, I do pray.
The thing I pray for most, you see,
Is to let their sorrows be few,
And let them happy always be.

My life has been good and bad over the many years I have lived it. I wrote this during the time that I was marrried to my ex-husband. He was very bad to our children adn I. He was mean and cruel and there were days that I just wanted to give up and die. If it had not have been for my children I probably would have.

What a lovely prayer. I wonder the same things, how many sins can I get forgiven? The penned work is graphic and images one would hold close to their heart as small muttering slips the words over the tongue. To pray for our children is always in my mouth, as my heart skips a beat for the sorrow they leave behind themselves. Lovely work and great read.

It seems to me that you've done the right thing to have him as your Ex-Husband. An abusive spouse is never a good thing to have. Life makes way for many changes, and it is never too late to forgive and forget. Just move forward onto a bright new day. Where it will be full of wonderful things and much joy and love. A fresh day to smile upon this wonderful day!
Thankyou and best of luck!
