As a child I always thought,
This life would be secure.
Now that I am old and worn,
I find that I'm not sure.
Wonderful things can come upon us,
Terrible things soon to follow.
And yet with each new day,
To our heart we do follow.
Many things I have seen.
In this life that we live.
Too many things often,
Does pain our heart give.
I pray each and every day,
For just one more chance.
And in the end of life to come,
To my heavenly father I do pray,
Give me the strength please,
To live just one more day.
I have lived to love,
And seen many a thing.
The love of my family,
The joys children bring.
We hold on tightly,
To those we love.
And pray to god each night,
To guard them from above.
So when my day is finished,
And I lay down to pray,
I'll remember the good times,
And pray for just one more day.

This is beautiful, with a very strong message behind it. Sometimes the rhymes felt a little forced, but generally the rhythm was good. (Also, in the fifth to last line, "guard" is spelled incorrectly.) The images are really great. Thanks for entering!
